BIRTHDAY PRESENT NUMBER TWO
----
Inukai’s not sure, but he always answers Reika’s call. It’s one of those days again, where he knows he’s going to say yes with whatever Reika asks of him (he always says yes, regardless). The thing is, he’s not sure if he’s really providing Reika a good… service. He knows his skills are lacking, knows that there is experience he doesn’t have, but it’s not like he can help these things.
Reika’s the first person he’s ever done this for, and Inukai only hopes that Reika doesn’t judge him too much.
He looks up at Reika, all jittery and nervous, because god knows he’s going t fail Reika.
Inukai licks the saltiness from his lips and tries not to wince. To salty for his tastes, he thinks, but smiles up anyway.
“Well?” Reika asks, his hand coming up to hold Inukai’s cheek.
“It’s,” Inukai swallows, “it’s good.”
“You seem so unsure,” Reika says, his voice full of worry. He swipes his thumb at the corner of Inukai’s lips and wipes off something there. Reika brings his thumb to his lips and Inukai turns away, he’s sure his blush is deepening. “It’s salty…”
“I’m sorry,” Inukai says, “I told you I’m not good at this.”
“It’s not your fault,” Reika places his hand on Inukai’s head. “People often have these mistakes. Sugar and salt do look awfully alike.”
“Not that alike!” Inukai says, his arms flailing. “I swear, I only ever mess up when baking. Normally, I can tell the difference between salt and sugar…”
“It’s okay, we can make it again.”
“It was supposed to be your birthday present,” Inukai tries not to pout, he really does.
“I was helping you with my birthday present?” Reika’s voice is too amused.
Inukai flushes, “I really cannot bake.”
